Make a Graduation Memory Scrapbook
Graduation makes a great theme for scrapbooking. Graduation scrapbooks could be started months or years before the graduation takes place. Recording the school memories as a long-term project would make the most comprehensive book. You might involve your child in the creation of this book, or just make it your own special project. Your scrapbook could be created as a traditional scrapbook or you could make a digital scrapbook.
Keeping memories in a book or album like this will preserve them for the future. A scrapbook with many rememberances about the good times and the tough times will become something treasured.
Scrapbook paper with a graduation theme can be used. A variety of images can be used by printing out pictures, illustrations or clip art. Preserve the photos and documents you are adding to a traditonal scrapbook by using archival safe adhesives.
Include personal notes, remembrances, special achievements, sports events, photocopies of newspaper articles and clippings, your kid’s clubs, hobbies and interests. Possible other additional documents to include are awards and report cards or copies of them. Notes from friends, family or teachers can be used. Your notes or thoughts about the dreams you have for your son or daughter are extra special additions to include. Scans of many of these items would work well if you are going to make a digital scrapbook.
As a way to organize your graduation scrapbook, use each year as a page title and add the school photos for that year. Mementos or memorabila from school dances, proms or other school functions. Graduation stickers can add the extra themed elements. Dedicate a page for each year, such as: freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Die cuts can be used to add interest to your pages. Die cuts are colorful paper or chipboard shapes with themes such as music, dance, or sports. These can be bought at art, craft and scrapbook supply stores.)
You can also leave room for candid photos of the graduation ceremony, parties, or events held before the graduation. Keep room in the scrapbook for any invitations to the graduation ceremony or announcements about the event. Handwritten captions and notes can be added, as well as journaling or poems.
Pick out a nice binder or scrapbook album to keep the graduation scrapbook pages in. You may need to fit a large number of items in this scrapbook, so make sure you buy an album that will be large enough.
After graduation, when the diploma arrives, you might include a copy of it in the album. It’s worth remembering, so plan your graduation album and keep it up-to-date. This makes a great present, as well as a lasting memory book about a graduation from middle school, high school or college. These are the memories of your child’s most important years you’ll want to remember and share.
